Bruno Fernandes breaks silence on Cristiano Ronaldo-Portugal row
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has called for calm and unity in Portugal’s dressing room following Cristiano Ronaldo’s dramatic departure from the national team, according to the Daily Mirror. Ronaldo reportedly left the squad after falling out with manager Jorge Jesus, having been left on the bench during Portugal’s 2-1 win over Norway.
Fernandes revealed he had spoken with Ronaldo but insisted the dispute should not divide the national team. He described the 41-year-old as “the greatest icon” of Portugal and said Ronaldo would always have a special place in the hearts of Portuguese supporters.
