Canada issues 1,000 PR invitations in latest Express Entry draw
Canada has invited 1,000 candidates through its Express Entry system to apply for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class, according to a PUNCH report citing Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The August 18 draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 523, higher than the previous CEC round’s cut-off of 516, which issued 3,000 invitations.
The instructions, signed by Minister Lena Metlege Diab, allow invitations between August 18 and 19. Candidates need at least one year of skilled Canadian work experience. As of mid-August 2026, IRCC had issued over 113,000 Express Entry invitations this year.
