Carlos Espi scores late to give Mourinho winning Real Madrid return
Jose Mourinho began his second spell as Real Madrid manager with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Espanyol on Saturday. According to BBC Sport, Jude Bellingham headed Madrid ahead after nine minutes before Cala equalised for the hosts. Real Madrid dominated much of the contest and struck the woodwork twice, but had to wait until the 90th minute for debutant Carlos Espi to secure victory.
Mourinho introduced several summer signings, including Yan Diomande, Marc Cucurella and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as Madrid began their campaign with three points. The Portuguese manager returns after previously winning three trophies with the club.
