Carragher warns Barcola over Liverpool starting spot after debut

According to Daily Mirror, Bradley Barcola has been warned that regular starts at Liverpool may not come easily despite making a promising debut in the 2-0 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town. The France international entered in the 64th minute and showed his pace and dribbling ability during his 26-minute appearance.

However, Cody Gakpo’s strong early-season form could limit Barcola’s opportunities on the left side of Liverpool’s attack. Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher also suggested the new signing could spend more time on the bench while Gakpo maintains his current level. Meanwhile, sporting director Richard Hughes has left Liverpool after two years at the club.
