Catholic priest quits priesthood, marries Kenyan lover
A Catholic priest, Sandro Ferretto, who served in Kenya’s Baringo County for 12 years, has left the priesthood and married a Kenyan woman, Sharon Jepng’ok.
According to Peoples Gazette, Ferretto, 55, married Jepng’ok on September 6 at Seretion Village, Kasiela, where he previously served as a parish priest.
The couple reportedly held a Koito ceremony, a Kalenjin customary rite involving dowry negotiations and family blessings. A video of Ferretto dancing with his bride at the ceremony has gone viral on social media.
Reports said he resigned from the priesthood in 2023 before returning to Kenya to marry his partner.
