Chivu claims ‘injustices’ strengthened Inter in dramatic win over Fiorentina
Inter Milan secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against ACF Fiorentina on Sunday at San Siro, moving level with Lazio at the top of the Serie A table.
The Nerazzurri fell behind to Alex Jimenez’s long-range opener before Marcus Thuram equalized in the 90th minute. Five minutes into stoppage time, Piotr Zielinski converted a penalty won by Thuram to claim the win.
According to Football Italia, Inter manager Cristian Chivu praised his team’s mindset following controversial moments in the match.
“We believed until the very end and were rewarded for the football we played,” Chivu told DAZN. “I’m pleased with the reaction: the injustices didn’t knock us down; they made us stronger.
Ever since I arrived here, I’ve always said that games last 90 minutes. I don’t want to see people feel sorry for themselves or complain about refereeing decisions. I want to see players respond to setbacks.”
