Civil servants, Accord Party supporters throng Osun secretariat to welcome re-elected Gov Adeleke

Scores of civil servants, Accord Party members and supporters thronged the main entrance of the Osun State Government Secretariat on Monday, dancing and celebrating in anticipation of re-elected Governor Ademola Adeleke’s return to office.

As observed by Peoples Gazette, the crowd gathered along Abere Road on the Osogbo-Gbongan Highway wearing branded caps and vests, dancing to music while awaiting the governor’s arrival. Traffic enforcement officers and security agencies were deployed to manage congestion at the scene.

Adeleke secured re-election on Saturday with 511,067 votes — defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes in a 15-party contest — making his return to the secretariat the first official appearance since his victory was declared by INEC State Returning Officer Prof. Joshua Ogunwole.
