Cockpit attack: Flydubai co-pilot may have Iran link- Trump
US President Donald Trump stated that the co-pilot accused of attacking the captain of a Flydubai passenger plane may be linked to Iran, as investigations continue. Speaking to reporters before boarding Marine One, as reported by Sahara Reporters,Trump responded affirmatively when asked about a potential Iranian connection, though he emphasized that authorities are still verifying the information.
“We’re working on it right now,” Trump said. “I would say the answer, based on what I’re hearing, is yes, but we’re working on it right now.” When asked if the IRGC placed the suspect on the flight, he replied: “Could have been, yeah.”
The incident involved Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, during which the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain, causing a sharp altitude drop before passengers and off-duty crew intervened. The plane safely diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed the suspect underwent radical indoctrination, investigations remain ongoing.
