Concerns mount over Norway’s King Harald’s health following palace update
The Royal House of Norway said King Harald’s condition “worsened” over the weekend amid his ongoing hospitalisation, People reports.
The 89-year-old monarch is receiving antibiotics for a bloodstream bacterial infection and has responded to treatment, though he remains at Oslo University Hospital on sick leave until further notice.
A Monday update confirmed no significant changes, with the situation described as stable. Crown Prince Haakon, currently acting as regent, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit have visited the hospital. This marks Harald’s second hospitalisation in 2026, following a February admission for infection and dehydration.
