Dangote: Call me Africa’s wealthiest, not richest man
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has said he no longer wants to be described as the continent’s richest man, preferring to be called its “wealthiest man” so he can create wealth for others, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.
Dangote made the remarks on Monday at the commencement of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s initial public offering, urging Nigerians to deepen the capital market through wider business ownership.
He attributed the Dangote Group’s growth to years of personal sacrifice, including time away from his family, thanking his three daughters for their understanding.
The refinery, built at an estimated cost of $20 billion, has a production capacity of 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
