Dangote Refinery IPO: Anyone with BVN can become a shareholder
President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, says the forthcoming Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has been deliberately structured to allow ordinary Nigerians to own shares in the facility, according to a report by Peoples Gazette.
Dangote said the offering, described as “for the people,” goes beyond raising capital, aiming instead to democratise wealth creation and let Nigerians directly benefit from the refinery’s success.
He explained that anyone with a Bank Verification Number (BVN) can invest and become a co-owner, noting that technology-driven subscription channels are being deployed to simplify the process for civil servants, traders, professionals, and diaspora Nigerians alike.
The billionaire industrialist reaffirmed commitment to transparency and strong corporate governance, adding that further details on the offer structure and participation guidelines would be communicated through appropriate regulatory channels ahead of the listing.
