Dolly Parton dies at 80: Country legend admitted she neglected her health days before death
Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80, just days after admitting she had neglected her own health while caring for her late husband Carl Thomas Dean, who passed away in March 2025 after nearly 60 years of marriage.
As reported by Daily Star Star, citing the Express, the sad news was shared by her nephew Brian Seaver in an Instagram video on Tuesday. In one of her final interviews with People magazine, Parton confessed: “I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl.”
The Grammy-winning entertainer, whose career spanned decades of music, film roles and a stage musical inspired by her life, had battled endometriosis and underwent a hysterectomy in the 1980s. Despite her health struggles, she remained characteristically upbeat in her final days, saying: “Even though I’m still healin’, I’m still workin’.”
