Dutch FA withdraws support for Gianni Infantino and calls for FIFA reform
The Dutch football federation has become the latest national association to withdraw its confidence in FIFA president Gianni Infantino, calling for new leadership and major governance reforms from 2027. The development was reported by Associated Press through Daily Mail, with the Dutch federation also offering to host an international summit in Amsterdam to discuss the future direction of world football.
The KNVB said the abandoned FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal had caused a serious breakdown in trust, while criticising the concentration of power around the FIFA president. It stressed that replacing Infantino alone would not solve the wider problems and urged greater transparency and accountability within FIFA. Infantino is seeking re-election in March 2027.
