Ebola: FG confirms patient’s condition improving, no community transmission detected
The Federal Government has announced that Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola patient is showing signs of recovery, with no evidence of community transmission.
According to TheCable, the Ministry of Health disclosed this on Friday in an update posted on X.
The development follows earlier reports that the Ugandan-born woman, who contracted the Bundibugyo strain, had developed multi-organ failure.
“The Federal Government has provided an update on the confirmed Ebola case in Nigeria, reporting that the patient is showing signs of recovery. There is currently no evidence of community spread,” the ministry stated.
Authorities confirmed the infection on October 20 after laboratory tests detected the virus in the woman, who received treatment at an Abuja hospital.
The government said contact tracing, quarantine and monitoring were continuing nationwide.
Health authorities are also strengthening hospital preparedness and coordinating public health measures to prevent further infections.
Nigerians were urged to observe recommended precautions and avoid circulating unverified information about the outbreak.
