Injury boost for Arsenal as Piero Hincapie returns to squad training ahead of Everton clash
Arsenal have received a significant defensive boost ahead of Saturday’s clash against Everton, with Piero Hincapie returning to full team training, according to EPL Index. The Ecuadorian defender was initially expected to face a longer spell on the sidelines after sustaining a freak injury during a post-match warm-down following his late appearance in the 2-1 victory over Leeds.
After missing the Nottingham Forest fixture and working individually before the midweek trip to Bayern Munich, Hincapie rejoined the main squad on Thursday. Manager Mikel Arteta addressed the player’s potential availability, stating: “Piero, let’s see. If he is able to train the next few days he can be available for Everton, which is great news.”
However, Arsenal remain concerned over Bukayo Saka, who missed training while awaiting further details on a quad injury suffered ten minutes into the match at the Allianz Arena. Meanwhile, Christos Tzolis remains a doubt due to a hamstring injury.
