First Lady Remi Tinubu, Seyi clash over APC youth leadership appointment
An alleged power struggle has emerged between First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and her stepson, Seyi Tinubu, over youth mobilisation appointments ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
According to Peoples Gazette, an unnamed source claimed the disagreement centred on leadership of the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s youth mobilisation directorate.
The council initially appointed Youth Development Minister Ayodele Olawande as director, with APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel as deputy.
However, the source alleged that the First Lady preferred Israel, while Olawande was considered loyal to Seyi’s CityBoy Movement.
The report also linked the alleged rivalry to competing mobilisation platforms, including the First Lady’s Mummy’s Men Movement.
“The First Lady does not like the CityBoy Movement and doesn’t want to have anything to do with it,” the source claimed.
The allegations remain unverified, and the article provided no response from either party.
President Tinubu previously praised Seyi’s mobilisation efforts publicly.
