Elon Musk threatens Democrats planning congressional investigations
Billionaire Elon Musk has threatened Democrats planning to investigate his business interests and government activities if they gain control of Congress in November’s midterm elections.
According to AFP, as reported by Yahoo News, Musk issued the warning on Wednesday in response to a Politico report detailing potential congressional investigations.
“Live by the sword, die by the sword,” Musk wrote on X.
“Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets,” he added.
Musk, a major Republican donor and ally of President Donald Trump, has faced scrutiny over government contracts awarded to his companies, including SpaceX.
He previously led an initiative to reduce federal spending and government employment.
Democrats could gain control of congressional investigative committees if they secure a House majority in November.
“The sheer number of conflicts of interest are astounding,” Democratic lawmaker Zoe Lofgren told Politico.
Republicans currently control both chambers of Congress.
