Enzo Fernandez made an impressive Manchester City debut as Erling Haaland’s goal secured a narrow victory over Coventry City. According to GOAL, Fernandez was initially named among the substitutes but entered the starting XI after Nico O’Reilly suffered an injury during the warm-up. The £125 million signing quickly demonstrated his quality, helping City control the midfield alongside Elliot Anderson despite their previous rivalry.

Fernandez played a key role in the opening goal, finding Antoine Semenyo with a well-weighted pass before the forward crossed for Haaland to head home in the 26th minute. The midfielder also had a second apparent assist ruled out for offside after producing a spectacular pass for Haaland.
