Enzo Le Fée apologises to Sunderland fans after Arsenal penalty miss

Sunderland midfielder Enzo Le Fée has apologised to supporters after his penalty miss proved a major turning point in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Stadium of Light according to Sunderland Echo. Le Fée had the chance to put Sunderland ahead, but David Raya produced an excellent save to push his spot-kick onto the post. Arsenal capitalised almost immediately, with Bruno Guimarães scoring a superb goal just two minutes later.

Le Fée, who converted a late penalty against Brentford the previous week, accepted responsibility for the miss and promised to respond ahead of Sunderland’s European campaign. “I failed in my mission; we’ll get back to work so we’re ready for Wednesday. Sorry again, and thank you once more for your incredible support,” he wrote on Instagram. Meanwhile, Bruno reignited his social-media rivalry with Sunderland fans after celebrating his goal in front of them.
