EU-SDGN rates Osogbo, Irewole among high-risk Osun poll areas
The European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) has flagged Osogbo, Irewole and 11 other local government areas as high-risk ahead of Saturday’s Osun governorship election, according to a report by Peoples Gazette.
The EU-SDGN’s Election Observation Hub expressed concern over allegations of misuse of force and police brutality in the affected areas. The warning comes amid growing reports of pre-election violence across the state, with security agencies and civil society groups earlier raising alarms over attacks on political party supporters ahead of the poll.
