Eva Carneiro hits back at Mourinho and Terry over Chelsea medical row
Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro has criticised José Mourinho and John Terry after they revisited the controversy surrounding her departure from the club in a new Netflix documentary. According to ESPN, Mourinho maintained that Carneiro and physiotherapist Jon Fearn were wrong to enter the pitch to treat Eden Hazard during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea in 2015.
Carneiro rejected that account, insisting referee Michael Oliver twice called medical staff onto the pitch and Hazard requested treatment. She also challenged Terry’s comments about the club’s medical understanding, citing medical professionals’ duty of care. Carneiro left Chelsea after the dispute and later reached a settlement with the club.
