Family, colleagues in tears as Nollywood legend Ogogo is laid to rest
Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was buried on Monday in Ilaro, Ogun State, amid an emotional atmosphere, Punch reports.
Family, colleagues and sympathisers gathered for the burial rites, with close friend Yinka Quadri seen crying uncontrollably. Actors including Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Mr Latin and Toyosi Adesanya attended the ceremony.
Ogogo, 66, died on Sunday after battling stage-four cancer, days after his daughters appealed for medical assistance when doctors halted chemotherapy. The actor’s four-decade career made him one of Yoruba cinema’s most recognisable stars, featuring in hundreds of films.
