Burnham says UK will keep backing Ukraine despite Russia’s ‘outrageous threats’

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Britain will continue supporting Ukraine’s defence despite Russia’s “outrageous threats,” Channels Television reports.

Burnham made the remarks in Kyiv on Monday during Ukraine’s Independence Day commemorations. The Kremlin had earlier accused Britain of hindering peace by helping Kyiv produce SCALP long-range missiles domestically, threatening to destroy manufacturing sites.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed Britain was “throwing oil on the fire” of the conflict, adding that Russian forces were gathering intelligence on production sites. The UK government confirmed it would let defence firm MBDA share component information with Ukraine.
