FBI adds suspect to Most Wanted list for supplying fraudulent parts to US military
The FBI has added Turkish national Onur Simsek to its Most Wanted Fraudsters list over an alleged scheme to supply fraudulent components to the United States.
According to One America News, the bureau is offering up to $150,000 for information leading to the 45-year-old suspect’s arrest and conviction.
Investigators allege Simsek and others used a front company between 2019 and 2022 to secure contracts for components used in US aircraft carriers, submarines, armored vehicles and tanks.
The FBI said the parts were manufactured in Turkey, repackaged to conceal their origin and later failed to meet required specifications.
Simsek faces charges including conspiracy to defraud the government, wire fraud, money laundering and export-control violations. Authorities believe he is residing in Turkey.
