FBI submits Tinubu records to Judge Beryl Howell for confidential review

The FBI has secretly delivered President Bola Tinubu’s 1993 drug-trafficking and money-laundering records to Judge Beryl Howell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, marked “for her eyes only,” according to a report by Peoples Gazette.

The submission followed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed in 2023 by transparency campaigner Aaron Greenspan alongside journalist David Hundeyin, and came after Judge Howell set an August 28 deadline. Tinubu had sought to block the records’ release, citing privacy concerns, while the FBI argued disclosure could violate his rights as a private individual.
