Jose Mourinho on who should win the Ballon d’Or

José Mourinho has made a strong statement about the Ballon d’Or, insisting the player who deserves to be regarded as the world’s best is currently at Real Madrid. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s LaLiga meeting with Málaga, Mourinho praised Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham before turning his attention to the prestigious individual award.

According to AS USA, the Portuguese coach argued that the award should recognise individual greatness rather than simply reward Champions League or World Cup success. Mourinho also suggested the Ballon d’Or has become influenced by politics, adding that there are “two, three or four” leading candidates and “we know where they are, here,” referring to Real Madrid.
