Federal judge again blocks Trump inscription at Kennedy Center
U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper blocked the Kennedy Center board’s latest attempt to inscribe President Trump’s name on the building, ruling the board cannot proceed without congressional approval, according to The Hill. The outlet reports this marks the second time Cooper has stopped the move, siding with Rep. Joyce Beatty, who challenged an August board vote as violating his earlier injunction.
The Hill notes Cooper’s May order previously required Trump’s name removed from the facade in June, but the board later approved new inscriptions crediting Trump’s fundraising role. The Justice Department has warned the center faces “certain fiscal collapse” without recognizing Trump’s contributions, per the report.
