FIFA defends Gianni Infantino as UEFA reportedly considers investigation
FIFA has issued a strong defence of president Gianni Infantino amid reports that UEFA could investigate allegations surrounding his conduct during his 16 years at the organisation. The claims were reported by the Telegraph and highlighted by GiveMeSport. Infantino has strongly denied the allegations, with FIFA describing them as “categorically untrue” and insisting no employee had ever filed a complaint against him.
UEFA is reportedly examining how an alleged six-figure payment to a woman linked to Infantino came about and whether the relationship influenced staff decisions. FIFA said there is an ongoing effort to undermine Infantino and vowed to challenge inaccurate reporting while defending his democratic mandate.
