FIFA releases overdue prize money to Jordan after Infantino row
Jordan’s Football Association has confirmed receipt of long-overdue prize money for the national team’s run to the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup final, days after FA president Prince Ali bin Hussein accused FIFA of using financial support as leverage for political backing.
According to The Independent, Prince Ali welcomed the payment but insisted it would not change his opposition to FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
The development comes after FIFA apologised for its handling of the abandoned FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal, while maintaining support for Infantino despite mounting criticism from several football associations.
