First batch of Ballon d’Or 2026 nominees unveiled

France Football, organisers of the Ballon d’Or, have released the first set of nominees for the 2026 awards, with the lists published on Tuesday.

According to Daily Post, the awards ceremony will be held in London on October 26. Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain is the reigning men’s Ballon d’Or winner after defeating Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal last year.

The nominees for Women’s Club of the Year are Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Club América, Manchester City and OL Lyonnes. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bodø/Glimt, Flamengo and Paris Saint-Germain made the Men’s Club of the Year shortlist, with individual nominees still to be announced.
