G100 opposition summit: ADC explains why Atiku stayed away

Atiku Abubakar’s absence from Monday’s G100 opposition summit in Abuja did not affect the meeting’s purpose, the African Democratic Congress has said, according to a Tribune Online report.

ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the summit focused on inter-party cooperation ahead of 2027, not individual candidates, noting ADC was well represented by him and four vice chairmen.

Held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, the summit drew six opposition parties, though Atiku, Peter Obi and Seyi Makinde were absent. Abdullahi also flagged fuel subsidy as a potential sticking point for coalition talks.
