Ghana makes health declaration compulsory for all arriving travellers
The Ghana Health Service has directed all travellers arriving in the country to complete a health declaration form from November 12, 2026, Peoples Gazette. The directive was contained in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the service’s Director-General, Samuel Akoriyea. It takes effect on Thursday and applies to every passenger travelling to Ghana. The measure is designed to strengthen public health surveillance and improve the country’s preparedness for health threats.
“All travellers are therefore strongly advised to ensure that they complete and submit the required Health Declaration Form prior to departure,” the statement said. Travellers must submit the form online through the service’s electronic health declaration portal before travelling. The service said the measure would help improve the tracking of public health risks and keep residents and visitors safe and healthy. It urged airlines, travel agencies and other partners to inform passengers and ensure the form is completed before departure. The service also urged passengers to comply.
