Inter Milan sweep aside Como 2-0 to move within one point of Serie A leaders Lazio
Inter Milan claimed a decisive 2-0 win over Como on Sunday to climb into second place and close to within one point of Serie A leaders Lazio, according to France 24.
The Nerazzurri made a fast start at the San Siro to put last weekend’s derby defeat behind them, opening the scoring in the 12th minute when Francesco Pio Esposito tapped in a cross from Djed Spence.
Marcus Thuram doubled the lead eight minutes later, lashing a strike past goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after capitalizing on a poor clearance.
The victory ended a six-match winning run for Cesc Fabregas’ Como side, who mustered little response despite Nico Paz clipping the crossbar late on.
Meanwhile, league leaders Lazio dropped points in a 1-1 draw at struggling Napoli. Elsewhere, AC Milan moved into fourth place with a 2-1 victory over Genoa thanks to first-half goals from Alphadjo Cisse and Christian Pulisic.
