Ghanaian lawmaker Sosu collapses mid-speech at GIMPA event

Ghanaian lawmaker Francis-Xavier Sosu collapsed while delivering a speech at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra on Thursday, Punch reported.

The Member of Parliament for Madina was speaking about his experiences, leadership and commitment to public service when he suddenly appeared to lose consciousness on stage. Sosu briefly regained consciousness before appearing to slump again. People at the event rushed to assist him and helped him off the stage for medical attention.

Citi Newsroom, which also reported the incident, said Sosu had been addressing attendees at GIMPA when he collapsed. The circumstances of the incident and his current condition were not immediately clear.
