A Florida grand jury found that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration misappropriated $10 million in taxpayer funds diverted to Hope Florida, a charity founded by first lady Casey DeSantis, according to a report obtained by ABC News.

The funds, drawn from a Medicaid settlement meant for children’s health coverage, were funneled to political committees opposing a 2024 marijuana legalization measure.

Investigators cited insufficient evidence to file criminal charges, noting no official claimed responsibility. DeSantis denied wrongdoing but vowed consequences for whoever leaked the sealed report. Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Jolly has called for the investigation to reopen.
