Grandson of Ayatollah Khomeini admits US blockade and war have crushed Iran

Speaking in front of Pezeshkian government officials, Hassan Khomeini acknowledged that the regime is being squeezed “from every direction,” describing the pressure as so severe that it could “bring down ten governments” in the region.

The admission comes as the Islamic Republic faces severe economic pressure, disrupted oil revenues and the accumulated costs of war.

When the founder’s own grandson tells the government that the pressure could destroy ten governments, it reveals just how severely the Islamic Republic has been battered.

The Islamic Republic is turning on itself as regime media attacks Pezeshkian and Ghalibaf for showing “weakness.”

Kayhan, published under the supervision of the Supreme Leader’s representative, accused President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf of sending “signals of weakness and passivity to the enemy.”

It specifically attacked Pezeshkian for saying “it is better to end the war today” and Ghalibaf for warning that military power means nothing if people are hungry and the system cannot endure economically.

Kayhan also condemned the growing “war or negotiations” and “livelihood or missiles” debate, arguing that compromise would play directly into the enemy’s hands.

The significance is difficult to miss. Two of the Islamic Republic’s most senior officials are publicly warning that the current path is unsustainable, while the regime’s hardline establishment is attacking them for even acknowledging it.

What was once contained behind closed doors is becoming an open fight over whether the regime backs down or doubles down.
