Hegseth drivers license among 170 million IDs for sale on dark web…
A digital scan of US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s driver’s license is among more than 170 million identity documents now for sale on the dark web, according to a Straight Arrow News report citing cybersecurity researcher Brian Krebs.
The identity theft service, called Nexus, claims to offer over 153 million US and Canadian driver’s licenses, plus medical IDs and travel documents, allegedly sourced from an ongoing breach at IDscan.net. Krebs noted the database grew by nearly 400,000 records in 24 hours. The FBI has launched an investigation, though Nexus’s dark web site has since gone offline.
