How Iran adapted its attacks amid dwindling U.S. munitions
Iran launched sustained drone and missile attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan last month, eventually breaking through American air defenses and killing three soldiers on July 17, according to The New York Times.
The report says Tehran has grown more skilled at evading defenses while U.S. Patriot interceptor stocks have fallen sharply, with over 1,500 fired during the war against fewer than 1,700 remaining.
Officials say Iran adapted tactics learned from Russia’s war in Ukraine, combining missiles and drones to overwhelm defenses, prompting Saudi Arabia to urge President Trump toward diplomacy over further strikes.
