Huijsen makes bold claim after Real Madrid edge Inter in Champions League thriller
Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen believes his side could have beaten Inter Milan by a much wider margin despite their nervy 2-1 Champions League victory on Tuesday. Speaking to Madrid Universal, Huijsen said Madrid created enough opportunities to win 5-0 or 6-1.
Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde put the hosts two goals ahead before Carlos Augusto pulled one back for Inter. Huijsen also praised manager José Mourinho for pushing him to improve, backed Mbappé’s Ballon d’Or chances and described new defensive partner Ibrahima Konaté as a “beast”. Real held on for three points despite late pressure.
