I could have done ‘very bad things’ to Obama, Biden, Clinton – Trump
US President Donald Trump has said he could have done “very bad things” to former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but chose not to because he believed the presidency should be treated with respect.
According to SaharaReporters, Trump made the remarks on Wednesday in the Oval Office after being asked about the possibility of Democrats impeaching him if they regain control of Congress.
“I could have done very bad things to Hillary Clinton. I could have done very very bad things to Joe Biden. I could have done very bad things to Barack Hussein Obama. I thought it was inappropriate to do so so because you have to treat the office of the presidency with respect,” Trump said.
He continued, “I’ve had my shot and still do at Biden, at Hillary Clinton, and Barack Hussein Obama, and I’ve had plenty of people say, ‘Let’s go get him,’ and I said, ‘No, you can’t do that to the presidents.'”
Trump added: “I can do whatever I want, if I want.”
The comments come amid continuing political tensions over investigations involving Trump’s opponents.
Trump has repeatedly criticised Obama, Biden and Clinton, including accusing Obama in 2025 of treason and involvement in efforts to undermine him politically.
Obama served as president from 2009 to 2017, Biden from 2021 to 2025, while Clinton served as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013 and was the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016.
