ICE withholds records in Ilhan Omar immigration fraud investigation

Share:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has refused to release records related to an investigation into allegations of immigration fraud involving Rep. Ilhan Omar, citing ongoing enforcement proceedings.

According to Just the News, ICE rejected a Freedom of Information Act request seeking documents connected to claims that Omar married a relative to help him remain in the United States.

The agency said disclosure could interfere with enforcement proceedings under federal law. Omar has repeatedly denied the allegations, and no court records, DNA evidence or other documentary proof has substantiated claims that her former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, was her brother.
