Igboho orders vigilantes to protect innocent Igbos, Hausas, kill bandits, kidnappers
Yoruba vigilante leader Sunday Igboho has ordered members of his security outfit, Iru Ekun Network, to extrajudicially execute bandits and kidnappers, according to a Peoples Gazette report.
Speaking while inaugurating the group in Ondo State on Tuesday, Igboho instructed vigilantes to kill armed bandits found in forests, alongside any Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa persons collaborating with them. He warned against harming innocent Igbo and Hausa traders, insisting “we are all Nigerians.” Igboho argued that handing suspects to police only leads to their eventual return to crime after jail, justifying the extrajudicial killing directive.
