IGP: Securing Nigeria Comes at Heavy Cost, Honours 10 Fallen Police Officers

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has honoured 10 police officers killed during a gun battle with suspected bandits in Kebbi State, according to a report by THISDAY.

Speaking at a memorial parade in Abuja, Disu said the officers died on 10 August while intercepting an armed group moving between Zamfara and Kebbi States. Two other officers were injured, and two civilians also died in the clash. He said at least 17 suspected bandits were neutralised and four motorcycles destroyed.

Disu vowed the police would continue pursuing those responsible and reaffirmed commitment to supporting the fallen officers’ families.
