Ilhan Omar cleared of wrongdoing over financial disclosure

Share:

Rep. Ilhan Omar has been cleared of wrongdoing following an investigation into a congressional financial disclosure that significantly overstated her family’s assets.

According to Newsmax, the Office of Congressional Conduct voted 5-1 to recommend dismissing allegations that Omar knowingly filed false or incomplete information. Her 2025 disclosure had initially listed family assets between $6 million and $30 million, but an amended filing later reduced the figure to between $18,004 and $95,000 following accounting errors. Omar said she was not involved in her husband’s businesses and relied on an accountant when completing the form.

The findings concluded there was no substantial evidence that she intentionally violated federal law or House rules.
