Interpol rescues two Colombian women trafficked to Nigeria

Lagos — Nigerian police operatives attached to Interpol’s National Central Bureau have rescued two Colombian women trafficked into Nigeria and held captive, according to a report by Vanguard.

The women, Maria Camila Rodas Ortiz and Yuliet Fernanda Rios Mesa, were reportedly deceived into travelling to Nigeria, confined, and stripped of their travel documents by Chinese nationals still at large.

Police Public Relations Officer CSP Aniete Iniedu said the rescue followed intelligence from Interpol Bogotá and led operatives to a Lagos hideout, though suspects fled before arrest. The victims are now safe, with Colombian diplomatic officials arranging their return home. (100 words)
