IPOB accuses Britain of hypocrisy over Nnamdi Kanu after condemning Israel
The Indigenous People of Biafra has accused the British Government of hypocrisy for criticising Israel over Jerusalem while allegedly ignoring United Nations findings on the detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, according to Sahara Reporters.
In a statement by spokesperson Emma Powerful, IPOB said the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention had called for Kanu’s release and compensation over his 2021 rendition from Kenya and alleged torture.
The group accused Britain of failing to act despite Kanu’s British citizenship, while lecturing Israel on international law. IPOB demanded the UK apply international law consistently and publicly back the UN’s findings.
