Iran dismisses US expulsion claim, says delegation left New York as planned
Iran’s mission to the United Nations has rejected claims that its delegation was ordered out of the United States. It said the delegation left New York on Monday as scheduled.
The announcement came shortly after Axios reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio demanded the Iranian delegation leave the country immediately after negotiations broke down. Axios cited a US official and a second source with knowledge of the matter.
Al Jazeera reports that the mission dismissed the report in a post on X. It said: “Having achieved nothing, the State Department has resorted to propagating baseless and worthless news.”
