Joan Laporta confirms Barcelona still want Julian Alvarez

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club remain determined to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid before the summer transfer window closes. According to Tribuna, Laporta said Barcelona’s offer for the Argentina striker remains on the table and would be accepted if Atletico decide to sell.

The Catalan giants are reportedly pushing to reach an agreement despite Atletico rejecting previous approaches for the 26-year-old. Alvarez is understood to be keen on a move to Barcelona, but Atletico’s resistance continues to complicate the transfer. Laporta stressed that Barcelona are prepared to proceed if the Spanish club becomes willing to negotiate.
