Jonathan David set for Atletico Madrid move after verbal agreement with Juventus

Atletico Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with Juventus to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David on loan, according to Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The deal is expected to include an option for Atletico to make the transfer permanent, with the Spanish club now working to complete the formal procedures.

Romano reports that Atletico will cover more than half of David’s salary during his loan spell. The move comes as Diego Simeone’s side seek attacking reinforcements amid uncertainty surrounding forwards Julián Alvarez and Alexander Sørloth. David joined Juventus in 2025 but struggled for consistency during his first Serie A campaign.
