Jorge Jesus opens door for Cristiano Ronaldo return after Portugal walk-out
Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has opened the door for Cristiano Ronaldo to return to the national team after the forward walked out of camp last week. According to The Independent, Jesus said Ronaldo would be welcomed back if he wants to continue his international career, insisting the decision ultimately belongs to the 41-year-old.
Ronaldo left the squad after being an unused substitute in Portugal’s 2-1 Nations League victory over Norway on September 27. He later promised to reveal the reasons behind his departure. Portugal subsequently won 4-2 in Denmark before beating Norway again, 2-1, to maintain a perfect 12 points from four Group Four matches.
